Senate House Library, University of London
The staff of Senate House Library, with responsibility for the University of London art collection, selected Dickson Russell through competition to conduct a review of the University collection. This eclectic body of over 400 artworks, dating from 2100 BC to the present day, is housed in Senate House and adjacent London buildings. Dickson Russell produced a Heritage Value Report of the collection, identifying several areas of interest from Commonwealth artworks and objects, women artists, makers and donors, to war artists. A strategy for the next five years was also prepared to guide the collection's future.
Dickson Russell made recommendations for the care, conservation and display of the individual items, as well as proposals to make the works more accessible and visible to University members and beyond, both physically and digitally.
