Asthma UK

The charity engaged Dickson Russell to curate and manage a one-off exhibition and competition held at the Jerwood Space, London SE1, to increase awareness of asthma, the seriousness of the condition and the continuing plight of those suffering from it. Dickson Russell selected work from open submission across a wide range of media. Much of the exhibited work by 36 participating artists was intensely personal, delivering a show that had a powerful edge and allowing a clear and hard-hitting message to be communicated. Award judges included art critic Rachel Campbell-Johnson and YBA Gavin Turk. A fund-raising auction of donated artworks by high profile artists, including Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst, was also held.
